The inaugural Space-Edge accelerator program offered in Fall 2024 will focus on biomedical innovations that can benefit from the space environment or help grow the space sector. 

The program is designed for biomedical innovators and businesses who are interested in accessing the unique space environment for R&D and manufacturing and/or developing novel biomedical solutions for the space environment. Whether you are a researcher, entrepreneur, early-stage venture, or established business, this program will support you in developing an actionable space strategy.

The 2024 program is designed for biomedical innovators and businesses who are interested in accessing the unique space environment for R&D and manufacturing and/or developing novel biomedical solutions for the space environment. Whether you are a researcher, entrepreneur, or early-stage venture, or established business this program is tailored to help you develop actionable space strategies.

If selected, this 12-week hybrid program will help you develop your space strategy, prepare to activate your plans and compete for funding and flight opportunities. By the end of the program, you will understand the opportunities available in space, have the skills and tools to enter the space ecosystem, have developed a clear plan to scale, and be tapped into a network of experts who can help you implement your plan.

Participation is limited based on the requirements of each Space-Edge Hub.

SPACE ECONOMY 101

This online pre-application workshops will help you determine if Space-Edge is right for you. While participation in this workshop is highly encouraged, it is not a prerequisite to apply to the program.

• Budgets and investment: U.S. and international—civil and commercial.
• U.S. civil space activity.
• U.S. commercial space activity.
• Emerging technologies and space market trends—economic drivers of the new space economy and the technologies and industries that support each.
• Space policies: U.S. and international (that influences U.S. policy).
• Benefits of space to the biomedical industry
• Funding opportunities for translational investigators and early stage ventures in biomedical fields.
